A Message from Jeremy Katzman
I have served on the Planning and Zoning Board since 2019 and previously was a member of the Education Advisory Board, where we supported our local sports teams and school organizations through grants. I worked with the city to bring residents a COVID-19 testing center and currently am working with leaders and non-profits to help Cooper City earn the designation as an Autism Friendly City.
My family is deeply rooted in Cooper City. My wife, Alisa, was raised here and works at a local school. We purchased our first home here and are proud to raise our young family in this wonderful community. Our children attend school here, play on sports teams here, and use the playgrounds here. This is our home, and I would be honored to serve Cooper City on a greater level.

MORE ABOUT JEREMY KATZMAN
I believe my life experiences give me a background to relate to the people I aim to serve and that I can make an even bigger impact as an elected official. Growing up in a single-mother household with little financial means, I understand the struggles of working families.
I attended local public schools and worked hard to earn scholarships to attend the University of Florida, where I served as a Student Government leader and was inducted into the UF Hall of Fame and Florida Blue Key – a prestigious honor society with members who are leaders throughout the state and the nation. At the age of 21, after returning from an internship with the Democratic Party in Washington, D.C., I went from being a healthy college student to fighting for my life when I was diagnosed with leukemia. I have translated these experiences to help people through my professional and community involvement.
I have spent my career as an administrator and innovator in health care and higher education. I currently serve in a leadership role at Nova Southeastern University’s Health Professions Division, where I focus on creating opportunities for students who aim to become health care professionals. I am involved in a variety of community organizations, including leadership roles in Cooper City and the Democratic Party and aim to make a greater impact as a Cooper City Commissioner.
A native of South Florida, Jeremy is deeply rooted in Cooper City, where he has lived for most of his adult life. His wife, Alisa, was raised in Cooper City, where her family still lives. She is a speech-language pathologist at a public elementary school in Cooper City, where their daughter is in second grade. Their son will enter Kindergarten there this fall. They purchased their first home here and are proud to raise their young family in this wonderful community. Jeremy has served on the Planning and Zoning Board since 2019 and previously was a member of the Education Advisory Board, which supported local sports teams and school organizations through grants. He worked with the city to bring residents a COVID-19 testing center and currently is working with leaders and non-profits to help Cooper City earn the designation as an Autism Friendly City.

He underwent three years of chemotherapy and radiation while continuing his studies and remaining active on campus, persisting to fulfill his goal of graduating with two bachelor’s degrees on time and earning the highest honors and being named Outstanding Male Graduate. This experience was eye-opening to Jeremy and shaped his passion for helping others achieve their dreams.
